Provides medically
supervised skin care. This includes medical evaluation and treatment of
your skin. Provides researched medical skin care products uniquely
available at medical offices. Medical services include skin cancer
evaluation and treatment. Evaluation and treatment of sun damage and
premature aging, medically directed home skin care programs and
treatment of facial and leg veins. The medical skin products available
for use at home are the Obagi Nu-Derm® Program the Obagi-C Rx program
and the BioMedic Program.
Wrinkle Correction
Facial lines are caused by the wearing down of your skin’s natural collagen. Among the various options, fat or Restylane® injections help smooth facial lines. Fat can be harvested from an area of your body, and injected into the areas desired. Examples are the nasolabial folds, upper lip and other surface irregularities. The fat grafts and approximately 80% becomes permanent. Restylane® is a natural dermal filler that is made of non-animal based hyaluonic acid which is a natural substance that already exists in the human body. Restylane® is currently FDA approved for use in the U.S. for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The studies show that the average results last six months or longer. Treatments are often scheduled about twice a year.
As we age we lose fullness in the contour of our face. Restylane® is a dermal filler made of non- animal based hyaluronic acid that is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane® helps restore fullness to areas such as the nasolabial fold and effectively smoothes wrinkled areas around the lips as well as the hollow areas of the lower eyelids near the cheek bones and other fines lines. The studies show that the average results last six months or longer. Treatments are often scheduled about twice a year.
BOTOX® Injections
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin is known as the product name Botox® Cosmetic, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. It can also be used to elevate the eyebrows in selected cases. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. This can be performed at the same time as treatment to other areas with Restylane®.
Obagi Skin Care
The Obagi Nu-Derm®
Program is a total skin care program that utilizes Tretinoin and
prescription strength Hydroquinone to correct and stimulate the skin.
The complete product line includes cleansers, toners, correcting creams,
and SPF lotions that help prevent skin spots and hyper pigmentation.
Facial Spider Vein Treatment
Procedure: Treat thin veins that lie close to the surface of the
skin of the face.
Length: 15 minutes.
Anesthesia: None needed.
In/Outpatient: Outpatient.
Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling,
numbness, soreness.
Risks: Severe inflammation, pigmentation
irregularity, scars
Recovery: Back to work: Usually next day.
Leg Spider Vein Treatment
Procedure: Treat thin veins that lie close to the surface of the
skin of the thighs and legs.
Length: 15 minutes.
Anesthesia: None needed.
In/Outpatient: Outpatient.
Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling,
soreness.
Risks: Blood clots in the veins, severe
inflammation, allergic reactions, pigmentation irregularity, scars.
Recovery: Back to work: Usually next day;
bruising for about two weeks.
Lip Augmentation
Procedure: Augment lip margin with patient’s own fat or with
injectable fillers such as Restylane.
Length: 15-30 minutes.
Anesthesia: Local.
In/Outpatient: Usually outpatient.
Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling,
numbness, soreness.
Risks: Bleeding, infection, asymmetry.
Recovery: Back to work: Usually 1-3 days.
